Bacharach is the ideal starting point to explore not only the World Heritage Site "Upper Middle Rhine Valley" but also the wider surroundings such as the low mountain ranges Taunus and Westerwald on the right side of the Rhine and Hunsrück and the Eifel on the left side of the Rhine.
Our house is located directly on one of the most beautiful and varied premium hiking trails in Germany, the Rhine Castle Trail between Koblenz and Bingen. On the right side of the Rhine, the Rheinsteig meanders through the valley.
Circular hiking trails through the Bacharach- Steeg valley are the Stahlberg loop and donkey trails in numerous modified variations around Bacharach.

Here you will find some Middle Rhine towns with history from the Roman and medieval times with their city walls, towers, castles, fortifications, monasteries, old half-timbered houses and Rhine promenades.
Koblenz, Rhens, Boppard, Bad Salzig, St. Goar, Oberwesel, Bacharach, Trechtingshausen and Bingen on the left side of the Rhine Lahnstein, Braubach, St. Goarshausen, Kaub, Assmanshausen and Rüdesheimon the right side of the Rhine.
Bacharach has a lido with fine sand at the campsite.
Upstream on the Rhine there are other sandy bays to linger.
Open-air, natural and indoor swimming pools can be found in St.Goar (Rheingoldbad), in Bingen (Naturerlebnisbad) and in Gau Algesheim (Rheinwelle).
The Köln Düsseldorfer and Bingen Rüdesheimer passenger boat tours offer numerous and varied excursions and round trips directly from Bacharach. The walking distance from our house to the landing stages is 250m.
The Middle Rhine Valley is also very well developed for enthusiastic cyclists on the left bank of the Rhine.
Bicycles and pedelecs can be rented by our guests.
By train you can easily, quickly and comfortably reach the other cities and towns on the Rhine.
The walking distance from our house to the train station is 500 m.
